A few years ago, I left the United States for the first time in my life and travelled to Africa, the Nile Valley of Egypt. That voyage changed my life by awakening a deep historical curiosity. Since then, I’ve accumulated wisdom from myriad travel experiences, and I want to help others learn about various cultures, ideas, and vibrant locales that make our world such an incredible place.
After returning from Africa, I embarked on another journey to fulfill a lifelong goal that most people only dream of. After quitting my job with a Fortune 500 company, I grabbed my passport and spent the next six months backpacking across 11 Latin-American countries.
I chronicled my voyage through photos and a travel blog. And upon returning home, I shared tales of magnificent adventures with my 9-year-old cousin. The third grader was enthralled by my vivid stories. Her curiosity about the cultural, historical, and educational aspects of my trip—and her countless “what-ifs”—ultimately led to the creation of several best-selling, STEM-based books for children.
In my free time I enjoy photography, playing softball, and learning new languages.
